Our story
YakDil means one heart. In our languages, یکدل describes two people who feel the same thing at the same time. It is what every parent prays their child will find.
We are a Muslim family. Part of us lives at home, part of us abroad, and like every family we know, we spent years watching our brothers, sisters and cousins search for a spouse the hard way. The dating apps felt wrong from the first screen. The matrimony sites felt cold, and rarely honoured our deen, our families, or our languages. And the old way, aunties calling aunties across three continents, was beautiful but slow, and it reached fewer and fewer people every year.
At some point we stopped complaining and started building. YakDil is the platform we wished had existed for our own family.
What guides us
Marriage here is sacred. You will see a few compatible people chosen with care, not an endless pile of faces to swipe through. Serious intentions are the entry ticket.
A woman’s dignity comes first. Her photos stay blurred until she decides otherwise — blurring is free on women’s profiles and part of Plus for men, and it is hers to keep or relax. Her privacy settings begin at the strongest level. If she wants her wali or her family involved, she invites them herself and chooses exactly how much they see.
Families are part of it. Our marriages were never between two people alone, so we built for the whole family: a private shortlist, guardian mode, and the Khastgari Guide for the day the two families finally sit together.
Your language is not an afterthought. We write every language properly — right to left where it belongs, with native numerals, and translations reviewed by people who speak it at home.
And nobody walks away in silence. Ending a conversation here requires leaving a farewell — the app will not close it otherwise. We do not sell your data. We show no ads. Reporting, blocking, verification and every control in your Privacy Center are free for every member, and they will stay that way.
Where we’re going
We are opening YakDil slowly, community by community. A small app full of real, serious people is worth more than a huge one full of empty promises. If YakDil helps you find your person, that is our reward. Tell us your story one day, insha’Allah.
