Accessibility

Built for everyone

We want YakDil to work for every member, including those who use a screen reader, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control, or any other assistive technology. Finding a spouse should not depend on how you use a phone.

What we aim for

We work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as our standard. In practice that means we build with semantic HTML and labelled controls, keep text and background contrast readable, support keyboard navigation with visible focus outlines, honour the “reduce motion” setting on your device, size touch targets for comfortable tapping, offer both a light and a dark theme, and support five languages including full right-to-left layouts for Dari, Farsi, Pashto and Urdu.

Conformance status

YakDil is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means most of the standard is met, but we have not had an independent audit and we do not claim every screen is flawless.

We last reviewed the site on 30 July 2026. That review covered every public page and combined automated checks with manual keyboard and contrast testing. What it found has been fixed: unlabelled fields in the sign-up flow, text and controls below the 4.5:1 contrast minimum, a missing skip-to-content link, and heading and landmark structure that made pages harder to navigate with a screen reader.

Where we know we fall short

YakDil is new and built by a very small team, and we would rather tell you what is imperfect than pretend otherwise. As of the date above, the signed-in app lags behind the public pages: some filter and message controls are not yet properly labelled, several pop-up panels do not trap keyboard focus or close with the Escape key, and a few icon-only buttons and the verified badge do not yet announce themselves clearly to a screen reader. Some smaller tap targets are also below the size we want.

These are on our list. If any of them is blocking you today, the section below is the fastest route — please use it rather than working around us.

Tell us, and we will help you in the meantime

If any part of YakDil is difficult or impossible for you to use, email support@yakdil.com and tell us the page and what happened. We treat accessibility problems as bugs, not requests. If something is blocking you right now, say so — we will help you do it another way while we fix the underlying issue, including completing steps on your behalf where that is safe to do.

We aim to reply to accessibility reports within two business days, and to tell you either that it is fixed or what our plan and timeline are. If you need anything on this site in a different format, ask and we will provide it at no cost.

Assistive technology and our safety features

One honest note: some safety features involve a live camera step (selfie verification), which can be difficult with certain assistive setups. If that step is a barrier for you, contact us rather than going unverified — we would rather find another way to confirm it is really you than leave you with a limited account.
