Community Guidelines
YakDil is a place where Muslims seek marriage with dignity. These guidelines keep it that way. They apply to every profile, photo, message, and community post. Breaking them can mean a warning, restriction, suspension, or a permanent ban, and serious cases are reported to authorities.
Come for marriage, nothing else
Every member is here with marriage intent. Casual dating, flirting for entertainment, or using YakDil to promote anything (a business, a channel, another app) is not allowed.
Be exactly who you say you are
One account, your real identity, your own recent photos, your true age and marital status. No impersonation, no borrowed pictures, no second accounts. Verification exists to protect everyone, so don’t try to get around it.
Speak with Islamic respect
Address members and their families the way you would in front of your own. No harassment, insults, threats, vulgarity, sectarian attacks, or pressure of any kind, including pressure to share photos, meet alone, or move off the platform. If someone declines or unmatches, accept it with grace.
Never ask for money, never send it
Any request for money, gifts, cards, crypto, visa or travel help, or “emergencies” is treated as attempted fraud and leads to a permanent ban. If anyone asks you, report it right away, even if the story sounds sad or the person seems genuine.
Honour privacy
What members share with you stays between you. No screenshots of profiles or chats, no sharing anyone’s photos or details with others, no collecting members’ information. Guardian access happens through the app’s wali mode, with her consent and never around it.
Keep content modest and lawful
No explicit, immodest, violent, hateful, or unlawful content anywhere: profiles, photos, voice notes, or community posts. Photos must clearly show you, dressed as you would be in respectable company.
Report, and let us handle it
If someone breaks these rules, don’t argue. Use Report on their profile, their chat, or any community post or comment. Every report goes to a human. We aim to review and act on reports within 5 business days, and we handle urgent safety reports first: threats, exploitation, or anything involving a minor. You can block anyone instantly, at any time. Malicious false reporting is itself a violation. Practical safety advice lives in the Safety Center.
How enforcement works
Fairness needs a ladder, and severity decides the rung: (1) content removal for minor issues (a photo or a profile taken down); (2) a recorded warning; (3) temporary suspension; and (4) permanent ban. Severe violations skip the ladder: money requests, sexual content toward another member, threats, impersonation, or anyone found to be married while claiming otherwise all result in immediate permanent removal. Ban evasion (returning with a new account) is itself a permanent-ban offence.
Appeals
Every enforcement decision can be appealed once, by a human review: contact us via Help & Contact with your profile name. Wrongful actions are reversed and expunged. Appeals do not apply to court-ordered or legally-required removals.
One person, one account
Duplicate, shared, or managed accounts are removed. If a family member helps with your search, use guardian (wali) mode. That is exactly what it is for.
Off-platform conduct
If we learn that a member used YakDil to find someone and then defrauded, harassed, or harmed them, even entirely outside the app, we may remove that member permanently. Taking the harm off-platform does not take it out of our care.
Working with authorities
For serious matters such as fraud, threats, or exploitation, we preserve evidence and cooperate with law enforcement as the law allows and requires. Protecting members outranks protecting wrongdoers’ accounts, every time.
These guidelines work together with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
